Searching the Public Register of all Arms and Bearings in Scotland
The Lyon Office welcomes members of the public by appointment between 10.30 am and 4pm Monday to Friday. To arrange an appointment please contact the Lyon Office by email lyonoffice@gov.scot, by telephone or by post.
A search fee is charged for each entry inspected.Searches do not have to be carried out in person as requests can be sent to Lyon Clerk via letter or email.
The Index and Entries in the Public Register of All Arms Bearings in Scotland, from 1672 up to about 100 years ago, may also be viewed on the ScotlandsPeople website. While searching the Index is free of charge, there is a fee to view the image for each entry.
